Job Description

Position Purpose:
• Guide the successful completion of major engineering programs or lead research in areas of considerable
scope and complexity supporting the development and production of Client’s products and services.

Essential Functions:
• Select appropriate methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to resolve complex engineering issues.
• Serve as a recognized authority in the field, consulted extensively by associates and others.
• Anticipate and resolve complex issues creatively and effectively, developing standards and guidelines for
diverse engineering activities.
• Balance technical product considerations with cost and schedule demands.
• Work independently with minimal direction, reviewed primarily for long-term results.
• Exercise significant latitude in determining technical objectives and make authoritative decisions and
recommendations.

Additional Functions:
• Stay current with developments in your field and related aircraft fields to recommend innovations that
improve the quality and effectiveness of company products.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a technical-related curriculum applicable to the job position, or an
equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 10 years of experience in a specific technical discipline or 15 years of broad engineering experience across
multiple technical disciplines with a Bachelor's degree.
• Advanced degrees can substitute for experience: 2 years for a Master's degree, and 4 years for a PhD in
fields applicable to the job.

Other Requirements:
• Advanced degree in engineering or a related field is preferred.
• Demonstrated technical skill and abilities appropriate for the grade level will be established by each
discipline.

Specialized Skills:
• In-depth understanding of adhesive chemistry, bonding mechanisms, and surface preparation.
• Expertise in developing material and process specifications for aircraft applications and FAA certification
requirements.
• Experience working with an ODA (Organization Designation Authorization) or directly with the FAA is a
plus.

Requirements:
• Demonstrated experience in the development, qualification, and certification of adhesives for aircraft
interior components, both structural and non-structural.
• Experience in creating and maintaining material and processing specifications for aircraft interior materials.
• Proficiency in using analytical instruments such as FTIR, TGA, DSC, and DMA for adhesive characterization,
along with the ability to interpret test data.
• Capability to resolve adhesive-related issues in a timely manner.
• Experience working with suppliers on new adhesive development.
• Thorough knowledge of adhesives, sealants, and tapes for aircraft interior applications.
• Proficiency with CMH-17 procedures, and ability to perform statistical analysis of test data and generate
design allowables for aircraft interior materials.
• Strong communication skills in both technical writing and reading.
