Job Description
Position Purpose:
Under general supervision, the Interior Installation Technician II removes, installs, and/or fabricates aircraft interiors, including items such as trim, carpet, soundproofing, light structure, cabinetry, panels, and other accessories. All work is performed in accordance with company design specifications, quality standards, and customer expectations.
Essential Functions:
• Safely remove, install, and/or fabricate aircraft interiors, including galleys, closets, lavatories, side ledges,
bulkheads, doors, and panels.
• Coordinate with supervision and Inspection to ensure compliance with Repair Station procedures, internal
and FAA paperwork, sign-offs, and quality specifications.
• Use the material tracking system to:
• Create parts demand.
• Track squawks.
• Sign off on work completed.
• Follow standard operating procedures for tools and equipment, including hand tools, band saws, shears,
sanders, and brakes.
• Properly maintain and care for shop equipment and tools.
• Prepare and install aircraft interior items according to company operational procedures and quality
standards.
• Remove and reinstall nut plates, inserts, and other fasteners used in aircraft interiors.
• Apply proper usage of hardware and fittings during aircraft installations.
• Comply with safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies.
• Use personal protective equipment as required.
• Address unsafe conditions before putting people or property at risk.
• Assist technicians, under supervision, with aircraft maintenance requirements.
• Adapt to sudden schedule changes as necessary.
Additional Functions:
• Collaborate with lead and higher-skilled technicians to develop and implement process improvements
aimed at reducing cost, cycle time, and man-hours using Lean Six Sigma and other techniques.
• Make and use simple patterns for personal use following standardized procedures.
• Support aircraft certification and final phase testing, which may include flight tests as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of applicable installation, fabrication, or related experience.
• Experience in the aerospace industry preferred.
Other Requirements:
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.
• Proficiency with hand/power tools and equipment used for interior installation and removal.
• Physical ability to:
• Climb ladders and stairs.
• Work in small, restricted areas.
• Lift up to 40 pounds.
• Work any shift as required.
• Must be computer literate.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
