The Production Expediter is responsible for utilizing pick lists in our MRP system to pull material onto production jobs. This involves finding and physically kitting material in the warehouse and bringing material to the production employees. Moving jobs with materials to different operations upon completion is also a requirement. They will be tracking where material and jobs are in the production cycle. When jobs are finished, they will bring to the warehouse and help complete the job in our MRP system. When material is short on a job, the expediter is responsible for obtaining additional material from the warehouse.
Essential Job Duties:
Utilizes schedules to pull material for production jobs in order of requirements. Bills of Material and pick lists show what material is required for each job. Understanding the warehouse and their procedures ensuring material is pulled accurately. Picking material completing jobs. When shortages are not found in the warehouse, needs to cycle count and/or communicate with Planners or Supply Chain to get on order with our suppliers. Communicates closely with Production Planners to ensure proper flow of material and WIP in the factory.
- Ability to handle changing priorities.
