Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
Sets up and operates numerically controlled horizontal/vertical lathe/mill to perform machining operations (turning, boring, facing, threading) using castings, forgings and bar stock. Reads process sheets/work instructions and blueprints to determine machining to be performed.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
I. Performs planning, lay out and set up procedures in machining of a variety of complex and difficult parts.
II. Uses ingenuity and good judgement in developing jigs, fixtures and other tooling necessary to complete job assignments.
III. Uses and cares for precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, height gages, dial indicators, calipers and scales.
IV. Capable of operating lathe and mill machining without supervision.
V. Complete customer product requirements as associated with work order
VI. Identify discrepancies in estimated setup and run times and resolve with Plant Supervisor.
VII. Responsible for document and data control of programs, tool lists, and other related data with respect to job packets and M2M data.
VIII. Responsible for cleaning and performing general maintenance on equipment.
IX. Responsible for stopping production if a part or process problem is identified and notifying leader or quality personnel
X. Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment.
XI. May be required to guide or train other Machinist employees.
XII. Participate in and support the Mistequay Quality System, Environmental, Health, and Safety, and company Quality policies and procedures.
XIII. Responsible only for own work.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification.
• Technical trade certification preferred.
• 5+ year experience in milling, turning or grinding
• Working conditions are normal for both the administrative and manufacturing environment.
• Work may involve lifting of materials and product up to 30 pounds.
• Working in the manufacturing environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to safety glasses and gloves.

• 3-5 years diversified machine shop and/or tool experience preferred

2nd Shift: 4:30 - 3:30am | Mon - Thurs
5th Shift: 6am - 4:30pm | Mon - Thurs
