Job Description
Develop certification procedures, coordinate with regulatory agencies, develop substantiation data and compliance methods, manage regulatory approvals, and administer the certification process.

Job Duties
• Identify applicable airworthiness requirements for proposed major design changes, and develop specific methods of compliance.
• Draft certification plans, compliance checklists, conformity plans, flammability test plans, cabin safety substantiation reports, and other administrative aspects of certification.
• Coordinate responses to inquiries, significant certification issues, and airworthiness concerns.
• Develop and maintain certification procedures.
• Identify applicable airworthiness requirements for proposed major design changes, and develop specific methods of compliance.
• Draft certification plans, compliance checklists, conformity plans, flammability test plans, and other administrative aspects of certification.
• Review and approve data under delegated authority from regulatory agencies.
• Manage the relationship with regulatory agencies and administer delegated authority.
• Coordinate responses to inquiries, significant certification issues, and airworthiness concerns.
• Audit company compliance to procedures.
• Interface with customers, suppliers, and other project stakeholders pertaining to certification of modification projects.
• Provide statements of work, cost estimates, completion schedules, and other project administrative inputs.
• Practice safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.

Job Qualifications Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with 8-10 years aviation-related experience; or
• Master’s Degree in Engineering with 6-9 years aviation-related experience; or
• Ph.D. in Engineering with 4 years of applied engineering experience; or
• 10-15 years in a technical aviation-related discipline with 4-6 years in an aviation engineering organization.

Minimum:
• B.S. in engineering or related scientific field.
• Eight (8) years overall work experience, preferably in an engineering role.
• Must possess thorough and wide-reaching knowledge of aircraft certification processes and substantiation techniques.
• Must have specific expertise within a specified discipline.
• Must have strong computer skills and demonstrate proficiency with MS Office programs.
• Must be familiar with aircraft mechanical/structural design processes, materials, fabrication methods, and aerospace hardware.
• Must demonstrate ability to draft responses to technical inquiries, methods of compliance, and other
regulatory issues.
• Must be able to effectively utilize aircraft continued airworthiness data.
• Must be organized and an effective project manager, presenting good communication skills and a professional appearance.
