Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Production management, the Paint Technician will perform a variety of painting activities for interior Aircraft parts and assemblies.

Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare composite and sheet metal parts and assemblies for paint as well as fill and fair
- Paint aircraft interior parts and assemblies with different water based and solvent based paints in accordance with released data.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, engineering orders, and work instructions.
- Read, understand and follow employer process and material specifications.
- Properly use calibrated precision measuring equipment
- Comply with lean manufacturing principals and work with leads and supervisors to implement best practices in the manufacturing process.
- Work with engineers and management in problem solving production issues.
- Be prepared to cross train and be utilized in other aspects in the production process.
- Follow all procedures for the use and proper fitting of required respirator systems
- Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations

Education and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical school or experience working in a Painting facility is preferred
- High level of manual dexterity and detail orientation
- Possess the ability to visually recognize and identify different colors
- Good oral and written communication skills; able to read, comprehend and create written and verbal instructions in the English language
- Computer skills preferred

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly exposed to vibration. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in precarious places and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment can be very loud.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is required to use a properly fitted respirator device for all processes which require this protection.
The employee must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
