Job Description
Experience and Qualifications:
• Must have prior experience of min. of 2 years on the following task’s:
• Must be able to Mask irregular items, a/c and a/c parts using various methods to include the use of various masking types such as masking tape, metal specialty tape, and fine line tape.
• Must be able to cover such items with masking paper as well as masking plastic for overspray protection.
• Must be able to sand, and prep a/c, utilizing hand sanding techniques, as well as machine sanding.
• Must have knowledge of grit types for each sanding application such as general sanding, smoothing of body fillers, sanding prior to applying primers, and topcoats.
• Must be able to sand for final clearcoat, and for machine buffing.
• Buffing and final polishing skills recommended but not required.
• Must have the ability to pass a respirator fit test and wear a respirator when required.
Responsibilities:
• Clean, sand, mask and tape aircraft and/or aircraft parts for paint with supervision.
• Mix, apply, and smooth cosmetic fillers.
• Spray various materials, such as primer, topcoat, and clear coats with supervision.
• Demonstrate consistent ability to perform tasks with limited errors or rework.
• Properly use PPE as required, to include respirator, and PPE for hazardous materials.
• Other duties as assigned.
Additional:
• Candidates should be prepared to furnish a portfolio of their work during interview.
• Educational Requirements: High school diploma or GED.
• Physical requirements: Ability to climb and work from a ladder while using appropriate equipment.
• Ability to be on feet for duration of shift. Ability to lift to 25 lbs. on a regular basis.
